Mongolian Heart is one of the most commercially successful and critically acclaimed Nepali bands of all time. Started in 1992, it consists of 7 members.
Their genre of music inspires and holds the essence of being Nepali bonded together with love, culture and various ethnic groups and has taken the Nepali music industry to a different level. Although the band specializes on a fusion of traditional folk and pop music that uses a combination of native and western instruments. It has experimented with all genres including Nepli folk, pop, slow rock and reggae. Raju Lama and Mongolian Heart are the heartbeat of every Nepali, and have been an idol for many young musicians and singers of the country. After over three decades, Mongolian Heart is one of the most successful Nepali Music bands with fans all around the world in Nepali community. Mongolian Heart has ingrained Nepali culture in its music, and it has an ideal music for every generation, Says Drummer Santosh Thapa who is an S.S.I in Nepal Police School of music and also a semi-professional cyclist who has paddled from the east to west of Nepal and even participated in the M.S. Gong Ride 2017 in Sydney, Australia.
Band goal is not just for entertainment but also to bring people together and bring smile on their face through music.

Over the years, the band released 8 albums and won several awards. Despite staying in United States Raju Lama the front man, he continues to contribute to the band when it comes to making music or performing. “When Raju come to Nepal from US, we get extremely busy. We had hardly get time to eat or sleep, “says manager & guitarist Boby Lama who has worked as an advisor of the franchisee show called The Voice of Nepal Season 2, 3 and 5 respectively.Besides devoting to creating good Himalayans tunes, members of the band have been involved in acts of philanthropy. In the aftermath of 2015 earthquake, the Raju Lama Foundation remained active in building schools and providing stationeries to schools students. The foundation has also constructed “MAYA KO SANGHU”” a suspension bridge in Baruwa – 1 Sindhupalchok district. Similarly, Boby Lama was involved in post-earthquake aid programs that provided financial support aid along with tarps and mats for earthquake victims in 7 villages in Bhotang and 5 villages in Baruwa Sindhupalchok districts. And also provided educational materials to students of quake- effected district, he was also involved in transporting injured victims to Kathmandu for their treatment.“We never thought we could come this far but we feel honored to have completed 32 years of journey very soon. We’re thankful to our friends, family, well-wishers, teachers, senior musicians, band members, former band members, and others who were involved in getting us to this point. These amazing souls helped us go through amazing moments which helped us learn our values and made us stronger and mature.
